| "Labor group
also backing public access to cable"
First published Monday, July 28, 2003
To the Editor:
In a Perspective column by Paul Bray, the idea of opening up public
access to the Time Warner cable electronic infrastructure was promoted
as a way to foster community identity and inform area citizens to
issues vital to our region.
The Capital District Area Labor Federation, representing more than
100,000 union members, is in full agreement with this initiative
and has submitted testimony with The Council of Albany Neighborhood
Associations and the League of Women Voters.
We encourage our elected officials to negotiate a comprehensive
agreement that will enable the entire community to utilize the full
spectrum of cable services and in the process enrich and inform
the entire community.
